Cremation Fees
The cremation fees are as charged by the crematorium.
Cremations Fees vary by crematoria and many crematoria offer budget rates for services held before 10am. For more information on cremation fees in your area please speak to a Variety Consultant.
What you MAY have to pay
These items are not always payable and depend on the individual circumstances:
A plus size coffin is required should the deceased by over 6 foot 1 inches or weigh more than 16 stone.
Included as standard is our Variety National collection service that includes collection of the deceased from a hospital, mortuary or coroner in England or Wales. Our Variety Premium collection service is a 24-hour service and includes collection from anywhere in England and Wales including a private residence, care or nursing home.
Implantable devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators contain batteries which explode on incineration. It is therefore essential that they are removed from bodies prior to cremation.
Optional Extras
You do NOT have to purchase these items, they are optional.
A hearse may be a traditional option for funerals however you are under no obligation to use one. To help keep our prices low we use a suitable vehicle and place the coffin in the crematorium chapel ready for when you arrive at the service.
A limousine can accommodate 6 to 7 people and is not a necessity; mourners can use their own transport, public transport or taxi.
This is a religious leader or Humanist Celebrant to conduct the service and is not compulsory, family can conduct the service themselves or nominate a friend.
These are as charged by the crematorium, please ask your Variety Consultant about prices for your chosen crematorium.

Embalming is not required because refrigeration is used instead.
Variety VIP
All our clients benefit from Variety VIP that includes Exceptional Service and the planting of a Tree in honour of the deceased, a Tree planting certificate for family is included.

Pre-paid funeral plans offer fixed costs, while immediate arrangements reflect current rates.
Everyone over 18 years old is eligible and your money is protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Yes. Flowers can be arranged for attended cremations when a service is to take place at the crematorium. All our clients benefit from Variety VIP that includes discounts for floral arrangements. Please speak to your Variety Consultant about your requirements.
An order of service is not mandatory for attended cremations and is optional. Should you require an order of service all our clients benefit from Variety VIP that includes discounts for order of service – there are many designs to choose from, you can choose the number of pages and photos you wish to include.
Yes. Variety Plus is an attended cremation at a Lower Price. You can choose for the service to take place at any crematoria you wish, in England and Wales, which is where the deceased will be cremated as well.
Yes. Variety Plus can include a committal instead of a full service. A committal is a small gathering for approximately 15 minutes that can include music. Many crematoria provide this option and charge a lower fee. Please ask your Variety Consultant for more information.
If you do not wish to attend the cremation the Variety Solo package may be a better choice for you.
No, the exact appearance of the coffin will vary by region and will be one of the following:
- a dignified, black oak effect foil veneer coffin with a glossy satin finish, matching handles, and a lined interior with pillow and white taffeta frill.
- a light oak effect veneer coffin with brass effect handles and a lined interior with pillow and taffeta frill.
Please make sure to collect any personal belongings you wish to keep from the deceased before we collect. We do not provide a facility for you to collect from us. Clothing will be respectfully disposed of and other personal items like jewellery or mementos left with the deceased at the time of collection will be cremated with them. If you need us to return any personal items after collection, there will be a £75 charge, and these items will be sent to you within 28 days of the cremation date.
